Run the pharmacy, not the paperwork.
Dambal keeps the till, the shelves, the credit book and the day's closing in one place — so the owner knows what happened without standing behind the counter.
Free for the first 30 days. No card, no installation.

What it does in a day
The same order your shop already works in, from the first customer to locking the day.
Sell in seconds
Search by brand, generic or the short name your staff use. Sell by tablet, strip or packet, and the stock comes off the right batch.
Know what is on the shelf
Every product with what there is of it, what it is worth, what is running out and what expires soon — before it costs you.
Chase what you are owed
Sell on credit with a limit per customer, see who is overdue and by how long, and print a statement to hand them.
Close the day properly
The person who sold counts their cash, somebody else checks it, and the day locks. Differences are recorded with a reason.
Buy and pay suppliers
Receive against the supplier's invoice with batch and expiry, price from cost, and keep track of what you still owe.
See where the money went
Profit apart from cash, each person's selling, and every figure against the period before it. Print it or take it to a spreadsheet.
On the shelf
Open one screen and see the whole shop
Every product you keep, by category, with what there is of it and what it is worth. What is running out is marked before a customer asks for it, and what expires soon is marked before it becomes a loss.
- Medicine, cosmetics, baby care and the rest, each on its own shelf
- Running low and out of stock, counted for you
- Batch and expiry on every item you receive

Questions
- What is Dambal?
- Dambal is pharmacy management software for Ethiopia. It runs in a web browser and handles one pharmacy or drug store's selling, stock, customer credit, daily cash closing, supplier invoices and reports. Each business's records are kept separate from every other business's. It is made by Kennaa Tech.
- Does Dambal work on a phone?
- Yes. It is used on the phone behind the counter, and it is built for a low-cost Android phone on a slow connection rather than for a desktop. There is nothing to install: it opens in the browser, and it can be added to the home screen.
- Does Dambal support Amharic and Afaan Oromoo?
- Yes. The whole application, including receipts and reports, is in English, Amharic (አማርኛ) and Afaan Oromoo. The language is chosen per person, not per shop, so a pharmacist and a cashier at the same counter can each read it in their own.
- Does Dambal use EFDA's registered medicine list?
- Yes. The shared catalog is built from the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority's list of registered medicines, so a shop searches thousands of registered products and adds one to its shelf with the generic name, strength and dosage form already filled in, instead of typing them.
- Does it track batch numbers and expiry dates?
- Yes. A batch number and an expiry date are recorded on everything received, a sale takes stock off the correct batch, and the shop is shown what expires soon before it becomes a loss. An already-expired batch cannot be received.
- Can a pharmacy sell on credit with Dambal?
- Yes. A customer can have a credit account with a limit, and the shop sees who is overdue and by how long. A statement can be printed to hand to the customer, and payments are recorded against what they owe.
- Does Dambal use the Ethiopian calendar?
- Yes. Every date can be read in the Ethiopian or the Gregorian calendar, chosen per person. One of the two is stored, and the other is worked out from it, so the two can never disagree.
- What does Dambal cost?
- The first 30 days are free, with no card required and nothing to install. After that it is a paid subscription per pharmacy business. Pricing is not published yet — ask Kennaa Tech for the current figure.
- Does Dambal handle VAT and controlled-drug registers?
- Not yet. Tax categories, VAT summaries and the narcotic and psychotropic registers are planned but are not in the product today. Purchase orders, returns to wholesalers and multiple branches under one business are also still to come.
- Is a pharmacy's data separate from other pharmacies'?
- Yes. Every record belongs to one business and every query is restricted to it, so one pharmacy cannot read or change another's stock, customers or money. A posted record is never edited or deleted either: a mistake is corrected with a new entry, so the history of what was recorded stays intact.
